INTRO TO TRIBAL JOURNEYS WILL TEACH YOU ABOUT CONTEMPORARY PRACTICES AND THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TRIBAL CANOE JOURNEYS, AN ANNUAL EVENT OF PACIFIC NORTHWEST AMERICAN INDIAN TRIBES AND CANADIAN FIRST NATIONS. TRIBAL CANOE JOURNEY PRACTICES AND CONCEPTS ARE EXPLORED THROUGH LECTURES, CLASS DISCUSSIONS, SEMINARS, GUEST SPEAKERS, STORYTELLERS, WRITTEN MATERIALS, AND RECORDED VIDEOS. EMPHASIZES ORAL HISTORIES, FIRST PERSON EXPERIENCES, PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS AND CONTEMPORARY HISTORY OF TRIBAL CANOE JOURNEYS.
