Alumnus Tory čınus (Johnston) Joins University of Victoria Faculty

American Indian Studies congratulates alumnus Dr. Tory čınus (Johnston) on his appointment as Assistant Professor in the School of Indigenous Governance at the University of Victoria. Johnston, a citizen of the Quinault Indian Nation, previously earned his bachelor's degree in American Indian Studies at the University of Washington and has served as a lecturer in AIS.

At the University of Victoria, Dr. čınus's research explores Indigenous sound and music, Coast Salish studies, and Indigenous governance through the lenses of nationhood, media, and self-determination. We congratulate him on this exciting milestone and wish him continued success in his teaching and research.
